When Moses lifted up the brass serpent
It was a sign for all of Israel to repent
They had murmured for the perils of the way
God’s wrath sent fiery serpents to them that day
In pain and distress they cried out for forgiveness
God’s simple solution was ‘look’ – no more or less
Those that looked at the pole serpent became whole
Now we must ignore pain’s strain to look at this
The serpent represented sin judged – in Genesis
Now Brazen – sin had come under the Divine Altar
Judged sin, divinely extirpated frees the sin-sufferer
The Son of Man was lifted up like the brass serpent
He took the Divine judgement solely upon Himself
He became an ensign-for sins past and perils present
He offers the same remedy to all dying in shame
Dote not on the symptoms but look at the antidote
“Dote not on the symptoms but look at the antidote”
But we see Jesus!
Looking unto Jesus!

Sin, that has its root in Genesis, was finally judged. Sin made God to shield the Tree of Life from the reach of man, using the Cherubim with the Revolving sword. That sword was not sheathed ere it got bathed in the Blood of the Lamb of God.
